What did george bush do on 9/11?

On September 11, 2001, President George W. Bush was in Sarasota, Florida, where he had been scheduled to give a speech at an elementary school. When the news of the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., reached him, President Bush was quickly escorted to Air Force One, the Presidential aircraft.

Throughout the day, President Bush was kept informed of the ongoing events and was in constant communication with his advisors and top military officials. He made several public statements, including a nationally televised address from the White House in the evening of September 11th, in which he declared a war on terrorism and vowed to bring those responsible for the attacks to justice.

In the days and weeks following the 9/11 attacks, President Bush played a key role in the U.S. government's response to the attacks. He worked with Congress to pass the USA PATRIOT Act, which increased the government's ability to monitor and prosecute terrorists. He also ordered the deployment of U.S. military forces to Afghanistan to pursue the terrorists responsible for the 9/11 attacks and to disrupt the operations of Al-Qaeda, the terrorist organization responsible for the attacks.

President Bush's actions and decisions in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks had far-reaching consequences and continue to shape U.S. foreign policy and national security to this day.
