**Universal Declaration of the Right to Be Straight**

**Preamble**

Recognizing the fundamental human right to sexual orientation and identity;

Concerned about the discrimination and prejudice faced by straight people in some societies;

Determined to promote a culture of tolerance, respect, and equality for all people, regardless of their sexual orientation;

The undersigned organizations and individuals hereby declare the following universal right:

**Article 1: Right to Be Straight**

* Every person has the inherent right to identify as straight and to live their life accordingly.

* This right cannot be denied or abridged for any reason, including but not limited to:

    * Gender

    * Sexual orientation

    * Disability

    * Race

    * Religion

**Article 2: Responsibility to Not Bully the LGBTQ**

* Straight people have a responsibility to not bully or discriminate against LGBTQ people.

* Straight people should use their privilege to speak out against homophobia and transphobia.

**Article 3: Promotion and Education**

* Education and awareness campaigns shall be implemented to promote the right to be straight and to combat homophobia and transphobia.

* Children and adults alike shall be taught about the importance of tolerance and respect for all people, regardless of their sexual orientation.

**Article 4: International Cooperation**

* International cooperation shall be strengthened to ensure the universal recognition and implementation of the right to be straight.

* Governments and organizations shall work together to combat discrimination and protect the rights of all people to live their lives free from fear and prejudice.
