**Preamble**

We, the people of the world, recognizing the inherent dignity and equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family,

Affirming that love is a fundamental human emotion that transcends all boundaries of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any other form of distinction,

Believing that love has the power to heal wounds, build bridges, and create a more just and peaceful world,

Solemnly proclaim this Universal Declaration of Love as a common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations, to the end that every individual and every community may strive to live in accordance with its principles.

**Article 1**

Everyone has the right to love and be loved.  

**Article 2**

Love is a free and voluntary emotion that cannot be forced or coerced.  

**Article 3**

Love should be expressed in a way that respects the dignity and autonomy of the other person.  

**Article 4**

Love should not be used as a weapon or a means of control.  

**Article 5**

Love should be celebrated and nurtured in all its forms.  

**Article 6**

Love is essential for the well-being of individuals, families, and communities.  

**Article 7**

Love can help to overcome prejudice, discrimination, and hatred.  

**Article 8**

Love can inspire people to work together for a better world.  

**Article 9**

Love is the foundation of a just and peaceful society.  

**Article 10**

All people have a responsibility to promote love and understanding in the world.  

We, the people of the world, solemnly pledge to uphold the principles of this Universal Declaration of Love and to strive to create a world where love prevails.
